When Cathy, Vivian and Marsha three roommates at college become bored with their studies - they leave college and go to New York in search of careers in shpw business.

The three girls take up residence in a boarding house run by a model who poses for nude magazines that specialize in strange and bizarre situations.

Cathy meets a theatrical agent who succeeds in seducing her. He then passes her on to a local cabaret owner who gives her a job as a belly dancer.

Vivian and Marsha meet Ronnie and Paul Cobb at a wild house party. Mrs. Cobb offers to teach Vivian the dance routines necessary to become a show girl . Vivian eagerly accepts however, during one of the lessons, Mrs. Cobb makes unnatural advances toward Vivian. Horrified, Vivian leaves.

Marsha falls in love with Mr. Cobb, a theatrical producer, and has an affair with him. She is completely disillusioned when she learns that he has offered her as sexual bait to a potential backer of his new show.

Cathy and Marsha, defeated by their unsuccessful attempts to find easy fame and fortune, leave New York and return to college

Vivian, now in love with Dick, a photographer who wants to marry her, gets a job in a new musical and excitedly faces a bright future.
