Vixen
1969 Directed by Russ Meyer with Erica Gavin
Teaser Storyline for Vixen Primitive forests and British Columbia out-country provide the lush photogenic background for this psychological drama. The lives and motivations of a Canadian bush pilot, his wife Vixen, and members of his fishing lodge are filmatically examined. Opening with Vixen in her yellow Bikini running joyously through the forest pursued by a muscular young man. They embrace and enact a scene of extended love play. Vixen's inner torments are demonstrated by her love-hate relationship with the young man, revealed by the camera to be a Mountie. The scene is witnessed by Vixen's brother, Jud, the "Devil's Advocate." He is accompanied by Niles, a black draft avoider from the United States. Tom flys into camp bringing a fishing charter, Dave and his wife, Janet. Tom's cool demeanor does little to quell the mutual hostility between Dave and Janet. Here Vixen does her now famous dance with the trout. She does her dance to point up to Dave and Janet their sick and jealous marital relationship. Later

that night, the camera shows scenes contrasting the soft and beautiful relationship between Tom and Vixen with the jealous and unsuccessful lovemaking attempts of Janet and Dave. Wild countryside provides the background for the fishing party next day. Vixen, catalyst of the love force, embraces Dave. They enact a love ritual scene in the cleansing river waters. Tom rebuffs Janet in keeping with his solid character portrayal. Niles, the black man, is continually baited by Vixen with no holds barred racial slurs. Niles is prodded into an attempted physical reprisal against Vixen by her brother Jud. Jud requires vengeance for her having tricked him into a love scene of distorted and manical self-hatred with his sister. Tom returns with O'Bannion, an avowed Irish Communist, his next charter flight. O'Bannion enlists Niles in his plot to hi-jack the charter flight to Cuba. During the flight, the Communist's true colors are unmasked for Niles benefit by Vixen. After the fight aloft, Niles' help in subduing O'Bannion is acknowledged but he leaves saying he aided the lesser of two evils.
