A small bus crosses a deserted area situated on the mountains of Transylvania, taking to their destination six people who have been hired to be the permanent staff of a nearby castle. On the way to it suddenly the driver dies and the six people find themselves practically lost in a region they do not know. Presently they stop at a village called Tolnia, a strange deserted place with no inhabitants. However they see a country inn where the f ire-place is working, the food and drinks are ready and the beds prepared for the night. One by one the remaining people fall into the hands of the living dead who, following an old legend avoid death by practising cannibalism. The six people decide to sleep there. One of them goes out to have a walk and is attacked by some weird figures, the ghosts populating Tolnia who only appear during the night The man is their first victim and he too turns into a kind of vampire. From now on he too will belong to their group... Only one girl, ALMA and a young man, LUIS who happens to arrive at the village, succeed in escaping that terrible fate which doomed their companions. They have an awful struggle with the living dead who wish to cast their fatal spell on the young couple and thus lead them to their own destruction. And when the nightmare is over, Luis and Alma begin to wonder: Did the village really exist? Did they really go through that terrible experience? The nightmare seems to start again.
