Turn on Love
1965
Janice (SHARON KENT), a voluptuous young newly-wed, has been growing restless following her recent marriage to Gerard (RICHARD MICHAELS). He is somewhat of a "square" type and older than she. Although she deems him satisfactory, she feels him to be not sufficient for her sexually and she longs for the swinging good-times she had before her marriage. Suddenly she receives a telephone call from Randee (JACKIE RILEY), one of her completely turned-on friends. Randee is receiving the amorous attentions of two men while she speaks to Janice and invites her to a party to be held that night. Janice's excitement rises in anticipation of the party scene, and she is determined to go even if her husband objects. Gerard returns from work early and after a session in bed, Janice proposes that he go to the party with her that night. He refuses. She goes on alone. The party is a total turned-on scene. Pot and other drugs are used freely and couples make love openly. In this atmosphere Janice

meets Rico (LUIGI MASTOIANNA), a filmmaker from Italy who is in America to study the "young" scene. That same night they go to bed together. She promises to return the next morning and show him the local life he wishes to absorb for his film. At breakfast the next morning there is strain and silence between Janice and her husband Gerard. After her husband leaves for work, she visits Rico and he accompanies her on a fascinating trip through the East Village. Although they wind up in bed again, Rico turns thoughtful and philosophical. He is actually a happily married man with children whom he loves, he confesses. She explains her husband to him and he suggests the importance of compromise between her life and his and urges her to try it to turn him on to real love. That evening she discovers that her husband too has come to the same conclusion when he meets her with somewhat flippant doodads that suggests symbolically that he is turning on to love in somewhat her style.
