The Bed and How to Make It
1969 Directed by Joe Sarno
Ellen Cooper arrives at her aunt and uncle's motel just as business is picking up. Ellen is young, exciting and innocent looking, but her appearance hides a confused mind. She was dropped from school, and sent away from home by her mother who calls her a tramp. Now working as a maid at the motel, Ellen meets Dottie Phelp, another maid who works with her. Ellen is introduced to Dottie's boyfriend, Vince Piccard, who manages the Haven Bar. Vince is immediately interested in Ellen.
At the Haven Bar Ellen also meets the owner, Nick France and his speechless girlfriend, Karen. The introduction to this weird couple gives Ellen a cold chill. Work at the motel is tedious and Ellen has a very difficult time getting along with her hard driving Aunt Connie. Russ, Connie's husband, is fascinated with young Ellen and they carry on an affair at the motel. Connie, who is suspicious of her husband's feelings toward Ellen, tells him that she is going to fire Ellen. Russ tells this to Ellen

and offers to pay for her to stay at another part of town, so they can still see each other. Ellen, who is less interested in Russ' affections, and more concerned about Connie not getting the satisfaction of throwing her out, devises a plan to render Connie helpless.
Ellen knows Connie has no resistance to alcohol, and that liquor will destroy her. Russ participates by getting Connie out of the room long enough for Ellen to leave a bottle there. Connie sees the bottle and calls f or Russ, who is outside unwilling to help her. Connie drinks uncontrollably from the bottle and becomes drunk. It is at this time that Ellen brings in three creeps from the Haven Bar, who Connie eagerly entertains. In the midst of Connie's escapades, Ellen brings in Russ to show him his wife who is too drunk to know or care about what she is doing. By leaving the liquor in Connie's room, Ellen keeps her a prisoner of the bottle. Dottie sees a way to turn the chain of events into money. She tells Ellen, and the girls concur that under the pretense of a party they will make Connie repeat her drunken performance, and take pictures to use as blackmail. Dottie persuades Nick France to use his house for the party and she promises him and Karen, his girlfriend, both who enjoy offbeat entertainment, one of the wildest... namely Connie. In return, all she asks is some pictures of Connie making love to the creeps from the bar. Nick consents but only on the condition that Dottie take pictures of Connie only. Ellen brings Russ to the party, but he doesn't know that Connie will be the guest of honor. At the party Nick and Karen eye Ellen and make passes and propositions at her', but she strongly repels all attempts of the perverted couple. Dottie is taking pictures while Vince, her boyfriend, is eyeing Ellen. As the party gets wilder, and the guests drunker, the atmosphere becomes heated and suddenly all eyes turn to the hallway. Two girls drag a drunk,: half-naked Connie from inside and throw her to the floor in front of Russ, who is startled. On the floor, the creeps begin to fondle the drunken Connie. This is too much even for Russ to watch. He jumps up away from Ellen, and tries to save Connie, but the creeps subdue him. Ellen now finds herself a young girl surrounded by very vicious and real people. She is frightened. "Pop," "Pop," the flashbulbs from Dottie's camera illuminates the room with blinding results. Nick and Karen are inching toward Ellen.. their hands touch.. Ellen panics. In her confusion she tells everybody that Dottie is taking pictures to blackmail them. Dottie is spellbound and denies the false charges but Ellen tries harder to make everyone believe her story.
Vince turns his back on Dottie, and Nick begins to strike her. Ellen now plays up to Vince. Suddenly Ellen's lie is exposed. Everything comes to a halt. All the guests at the party go to other rooms. Russ, like all the others, disgusted with Ellen, goes to the helpless Connie. The room is empty except for Vince and Ellen. Ellen, now lost, continues to play up to Vince. Vince suggests they go upstairs . . .
