1969
New York believes it is the most permissive city in the world and perhaps it is, but certainly Hamburg comes first as to where the action is.
"7 CONSENTING ADULTS" which revolves around the Police Station in the infamous Reeperbahn, Hamburg's most notorious district, uses the story technique of 'Grand Hotel' and 'Airport.' It tells of the various people sought or booked by the police and their effect on the police and one another.
What is shown is as brazen and frank as anything shown on stage or screen in recent years - going even further than "OH, CALCUTTA" and "I AM CURIOUS."
Many stories are intertwined to make up "7 CONSENTING ADULTS." The cast of characters include a gangster recently released from jail and the police officer against whom he seeks revenge, a madam and her gaggle of girls who play for pay and the customers who patronize them, strippers who strip all the way, female impersonators on the make, confidence men and strong arm boys, lesbians who perform

for voyeurs, pimps, murderers, and a large contingent of American sailors on the town seeking action and finding it.
The principal stories are those which involve the gangster, his girl friends and the police officer he is out to get - and that of Madam use and her stable of prostitutes, particularly Dixie her No. 1 girl, and their involvement with American sailors and odd ball customers whom they attempt to satisfy sexually, and-swindle financially.
The orgy of "7 CONSENTING ADULTS" which some consider the most provocative scene ever filmed is just another evening to the sophisticates in the motion picture who engage in it. It is a film by, with, and for Adults only.
