1970
Geoff (Philip English), after getting into some trouble with the police in Miami gets a job on a sloop in the Caribbean. Nearing one of the islands, he becomes aware that the captain intends to turn him in to the police, and thus avoid paying him his salary. Geoff jumps ship and swims to land safe, but penniless. There he befriends Cindy (Linda Southern), a pretty waitress, who takes him in and provides Geoff with bed, board, and herself, and also tells Geoff how to get a job on a ketch which is about to leave for another island.
Geoff meets Brick Taylor (Rico Chase), the captain of the ketch, who hires him and they go off on a mysterious journey. They pick up another passenger known as 'boss', the owner of the ketch (Inga Von Reith) who has eyes for Geoff. She makes a big play for the new hand after Geoff defeats the captain in a boxing match aboard ship.
While on the high seas, Geoff finds a 'joint' of

marijuana in 'boss' ' cabin, and goes on deck to smoke it. There he is discovered by Hutch (Ed Hatton) another member of the crew and they get into a fight over the drug. In revenge, Hutch tells captain Taylor that Geoff has discovered their cargo of illicit drugs, and that he knows that 'boss' is the owner of a string of bordellos in the islands. Captain Taylor decides to kill Geoff, and they tie him to the mast to die. However the 'boss' is reluctant to be involved in murder, and she helps Geoff escape and jump overboard.
On land he is rescued by Carla (Barbara Thorpe), a call girl, who unbeknown to Geoff works for 'boss'. Geoff, almost dead, is hidden in a bordello, and there slowly recovers while Captain Taylor and 'boss' are unaware of his presence. There he gets involved with another one of the girls with whom he has a love affair. His new girl, Liz (Nancy Andrews), warns him about Carla, but Geoff does not take her seriously. When Carla finds out that Geoff and Liz plan to run away, she tells Brick Taylor and 'boss' of his presence in the house.
After an exciting chase through an abandoned mansion, the captain finally corners Geoff and is about to kill him when Liz, aware of her lover's danger, sneaks behind Taylor and stabs him, saving Geoff's life.
