Psychic - Mind Reader
1970
Dan Thomas, an industrious young executive, stands to head the J.F.Wi]son Advertising Agency, upon the retirement of John Wilson. That is - until Wilson's prodigal son, Artie, returns. Dan's consternation at losing out to Artie is apparent from the first scene, which finds our hero in bed with the wife of a competitive executive.
Dan is repairing a window before a family cookout. His wife, Ellen, is interrupted during a phone call, by their daughter Lisa, who cries out that Dan has fallen from the ladder. Hospitalized after his injury, Dan is visited by John Wilson. When Wilson leaves, Dan inexplicably predicts his death. Wilson does indeed die. Following an argument with Artie, in which Dan reveals a growing psychic sense, he leaves the firm.
Dan is increasingly aware of his extra-sensory abilities: he can read minds and predict the future. Enchanted with his new-found power, he starts to drink and is increasingly unfaithful to Ellen. After "too much lipstick on the collar" and a sizzling love scene with his abundantly endowed

sister-in-law, Lorel, Dan decides to leave home.
He meets Bobbi in a cocktail lounge and impresses the sexy girl with his amazing abilities. Bobbi, interested in show business, persuades Dan to do a theatrical act. She collects objects from some of the audience; Dan tells both the owner and the owner's personal history by holding the items in his hand. Soon Dan shares Bobbi's bedroom as well as her ambitions.
Dan is discovered by a patron of the arts, Mr. Doucette, who is a believer in E.S.P. (extra-sensory perception). Dan is invited to New York with one stipulation: dump Bobbi. Dan readily agrees to the - condition.
Subsequently Dan gains the attention of Henry Kalder, owner of a talent agency. Henry challenges Dan to put his gift on the line by appearing on Jerry Larson's television show. Dan accepts, after having been promised a contract by Kalder.
Kalder fears Dan's instability. He invites Ellen and Lisa to New York. Unaware that he has not been told she is coming, Ellen meets Dan, who is with his latest girl-friend. They argue again, and Dan wildly accuses Ellen of sleeping with her employer ....
