Set in beautiful archipelago surroundings, a natural habitat for the color camera, One Swedish Summer is a story of a special summer and of Scandinavian youth. Leander, a talented young violinist is home for the summer from his music studies in Switzerland. Problems stem from the physical attraction he and his half-sister Mae feel for each other. Leander endeavors first to alleviate these deep frustrations with Aino, the Finnish maid who despite her early willingness soon gives herself to a young fisherman. Leander then seeks out another beauty Garda, whose uninhibited attitude toward sex is that of a gay burlesque farce; however, he continues to follow his drive and seeks satisfaction with warm and tender Susanne and then with Lola despite her closely guarded virginity. Finally Leander frees his half-sister Mae from her overwhelming desire and by summer's end he has found a new peace and inner calm. Somehow his experience in handling the summer's emotional and sexual involvements with five beautiful girls has added new depth to his life and maturity to his music. One Swedish Summer was directed by Gunnar Hoglund and is released by U-M Film Distributors. CAST AND CREDITS LEANDER .......................... Hans Gustatsson MAE ..........................
