We love our legends and our heroes. Nevertheless, we suspect that when they weren't out slaying those stupid, clumsy, fire-breathing 'dragons, the good and glorious knights of old climbed out of their cast-iron jump-suits and perhaps did a little number with the available local pussycats. But we sure can't censure them for that .. . not the way it all hangs out nowadays.
So, we'll sing of Siegfried, and tell it like it is. . . or was.. . or how we'd like to think it was.. . because it was more fun that way.
Our boy Siegfried had it made. . . young, handsome, fearless, smart, strong. and if that wasn't enough, he also possessed magical powers.
Siegfried and his faithful manservant, jolly, bear-like Hansel arrive at the castle of King Gunther of Burgundy. The hero's reputation had preceeded him, and Gunther and his two brothers roll out the red carpet for the legendary visitor.
Enter an antagonist. Evil,

one-eyed Hagen, Gunther's Secretary of War resents Siegfried who quickly puts the bad cat down.
Enter the chick. Siegfried flips for Gunther's sister Kriemhild, a tall Nordic knockout.
Gunther was being leaned on by the neighboring kings of Denmark and Saxony. Siegfried agreed to give his host a hand, and the Burgundians, with a little help from their one-man-army ally wrapped it all up very quickly, with great loss of life to the Danes and Saxons, and great glory to Gunther.
Now that the fighting is finished, it's time for loving. Siegfried really digs Kriemhild, never suspecting that she and her maid have this lesbian bit going.
Siegfried asks Gunther for permission to marry Kriemhild. The king agrees, if Siegfried will once again help him. Gunther needs Siegfried's aid in winning himself a bride, Brunhild, the Queen of Iceland, a real heavyweight.
Siegfried and Gunther journey to Iceland where Brunhild and her icy amazon hordes hold forth. Brunhild puts Gunther to a test to determine hi~worthiness. The test: how well and how long can he make love. In this department, Gunther is anything but kingly.
Siegfried makes himself invisible, and, in the dark substitutes for Gunther. Brunhild flips.
Siegfried and Kriemhild, Gunther and Brunhild are united in a double-wedding ceremony.
Kriemhild is blissfully happy, her sapphic ways forgotten. Brunhild is sorely disappointed. As women will, they quarrel. Kriemhild cattily tells Brunhild that it was Siegfried, not Gunther who proved himself that night in Iceland.
Brunhild, seething with rage and jealousy tortures the beautiful, nude lesbian maid of Kriemhild to learn the secret of Seigfried's only weakness.
With this knowledge, Brunhild persuades the villainous Hagen to kill Siegfried.
But the gods watch over our boy, and Hagen blows the job. Nobly, as always, Siegfried spares the life of his would-be murderer.
In between occurs much jousting, on the fields and in the bed chambers by all combinations of males and females, females and females, etc.
