Madame Pinares - Little Mother, every citizen's Little Mother and protector. . . How did she reach such an exalted position? Wife of the all-powerful President - but isn't it really Marina who rules the country?

As a young TV weather girl, Marina takes advantage of a catastrophic earthquake to Include herself and the ambitious Minister of Labor, Colonel Pinares, on national television by implying that he is the only government official who is concerned about the earthquake victims because he is actually there with them.

Despite objections from his superiors in the government, the relationship between Marina and Pinares deepens. His influence gets her own television show; she, in turn, uses it to elevate him politically with the people. Simultaneously, she seduces key men in the military to raise her own stature in government circles.

As her popularity increases and she eventually marries

Pinares who becomes President, she eliminates those from her past who

could inform the public of her history of prostitution and murder.

Discovering that she is dying of an Incurable disease, Marina plots to

Insure Pinares' re-election by having herself assassinated by one of her lovers.

An ironic twist of fate foils her scheme but still, she dies martyred - knowing that Pinares will retain control and she will always remain the country's Little Mother.
