Libido
1975 Sandra Jullien
Teaser Storyline for Libido Before her accident beautiful Carole (Sandra Jullien) was a very prim and proper young lady. She kept all men, even her fiancee, Eric (Alain Hitier), at arm's length. At 21 she was still a virgin! She miraculously escapes serious physical injury in a fall, but another deeper change has taken place. She finds that her body gives her sensuous delight she had never before experienced. Instead of putting Eric off she now invites him into her bed with an avid hunger that frightens him. When she is caught in the arms of her employer's nephew the scandal makes her the target of merciless gossip. Her father and even her fiancee turn against her. Still her sexual hunger drives her on and Carole realizes with dread that she has become, in her own words, "a nymphomaniac!" She feels the town in which she has lived all her life and in the city finds a job with Muriel, (Janine Reynaud). But her flight has not changed the sex

hunger that burns inside of her and she is an easy victim to Muriel's depraved tastes. The older woman introduces her to the pleasures of woman-to-woman relations in what is unquestionably the most erotic scene of lesbian lovemaking ever filmed. Soon Carole is involved in "trios-two men and one woman, two women with one man-and is making advances to women. Her sexual hunger drives her into the streets where she tries to pick up men and women in her endless search for sexual satisfaction. Carole's life becomes a mad merry-go-round of sexual depravity, but a spark of decency remains. She seeks the help of an understanding priest (Yves Vincent) but her sexual desire wins over her good intentions. At last she seeks the ultimate escape-suicide. Her young body is too strong for surrender, however. In the hospital Carole meets the only man who arouses within her the true feelings of love-her young and handsome doctor, Michel (Patrick Verde). When her father refuses to come for her the doctor takes her to his own bachelor home to recuperate. But now doubts torture Carole. Is she really in love with him, or is her feeling for Michel just another phase of her nymphomania? When Muriel invites her to an orgy Carole is tempted. At the same time, she is afraid. Will she succumb to her sexual urges and become, once again, a nymphomaniac? With Michel's encouragement she decides to test herself. In Muriel's wildly decorated apartment an exotic collection of "beautiful people" lay bare their temptations and the two forces-lust and love-fight within Carole. The winner? The answer is found in the last scene, in the glowing happiness of Carole and Michel as they are finally united, not as doctor and patient but as man and woman.
