The debasement of civilized life in its most graphic form captures the screen in this seething portrayal of individuals driven to the depths of degradation.
At the outset, an unidentified man makes a series of obscene phone calls to people chosen at random to suffer his incredible verbal abuse. Quickly, then, a private detective (Sam Shwartz) receives a call from a man whose wife is missing. As he begins his search, the man who made the obscene phone calls 'meets' the other's wayward wife in a house of ill-repute. They leave together for a bar and enjoy the topless dancing of Sam Shwartz's girlfriend. In fact, the wayward wife gets an unnatural excitement from the act, and the two follow her home.
Sam, unfortunately, is having car trouble, which prevents him from stopping the attack on his girlfriend who is
assaulted by the mysterious phone caller and the missing wife. By this time Sam secures a ride from a young girl dripping with anxiety and in the interim heeds the mounting

call of her physical necessities.
Finally he arrives at his girl's apartment to find all three combatants in the midst of the fifteenth round. As her male attacker pulls a knife to thwart Sam, he is beaten to the draw and expires from the effect of Sam's 38. Sam then gives the female luster a quick nap and calls her husband. He allows the husband the opportunity of winning the race with the police to his wife, only if he brings enough green folding stuff to make the wait worthwhile.
