Joy of Fooling Around
1975 Monique Du Prez
A sun splashed day on the fabulous Greek Island of Mykonos. . . sapphire blue waters roll gently onto the pebbled shore, lapping at the feet of the four nude young men and women at play. The camera slowly sweeps the idyllic scene, across the shallow waves, then suddenly zooms in on a solitary figure laboriously swimming toward shore. It is a muscular and handsome young man who finally reaches the shore and collapses motionless on the beach. MARINA, an innocent and beautiful woman-child of the island, shelters the STRANGER and helps him recover. But this strange fellow is suffering from temporary amnesia and can recall nothing of himself nor his past. From this bizarre mix of circumstances a love affair is born between MARINA and the STRANGER. They engage in two sweltering love bouts, one inside her beach hut where they explore each other's body, then to the beach where, now familiar with the needs and desires of each other, completely disregard every inhibition, every convention, and totally immerse themselves in the wild

enjoyment of each other. The final sequence in this coupling ends partly in the ocean's lapping waves, and the camera doesn't miss one drop of the explicit action! It is a scene destined to be talked about by audiences for a long, long time. MARINA, we soon learn, supports herself by working as a maid in a local hotel. Her boss is FLORA, a voluptuous but evil young woman who runs the hotel primarily for the sexual satisfaction of her guests, as well as for herself. We see that the maids in the inn (with the exception of MARINA) are there for the complete gratification of the guests, male and female alike, and they go to all extremes to please the clientele. Thanks to the magnificent cinematography of "The Joy of Fooling Around" we watch as three sexual scenes unfold, gently at first, then finally erupting into simultaneous climaxes of pure erotica. One day the STRANGER ventures into town and eventually to the hotel where he meets FLORA. One look at him and FLORA feels she has at last found the man she's been looking for. Now the erotic triangle is complete. For a while the STRANGER is torn between the two women, while trying all the time to discover what happened to him, to remember some clue to his identity. Meanwhile, the police are searching for a smuggler of priceless art objects from the neighboring island of Delos. While chasing the smuggler earlier, he had killed someone and escaped by swimming away. Now convinced the killer is hiding somewhere on the island, the police have asked FLORA to watch out for him. FLORA believes the STRANGER is the killer, and is able to convince him that indeed he is. This seems to be her chance to get and keep him for her own and she tries to do so by offering him protection and a chance to escape. MARINA cannot believe he is capable of murder and offers to help him prove it. Realizing MARINA's genuine intentions, the STRANGER finally abandons FLORA'S love for MARINA. FLORA now betrays him to the police, who chase and capture him. But they discover he is not the man after all! He is in fact a wealthy businessman who was cruising in his yacht. He had found his wife in the act of love with his best friend and had tried to drown his anger in a frantic speedboat race. The small craft had exploded and the impact caused his amnesia. FLORA now tries to get MARINA out of the picture by luring her into a lesbian seduction but even after the two girls make love, MARINA is more than ever convinced she belongs with the STRANGER. FLORA, realizing she has lost him forever, leaves the island. Now in complete bliss, MARINA and the STRANGER engage in a tenderly sensual act of love, the ultimate gift to each other in thanks for their beautiful discovery.
