Housewives and Bartenders

1969

Housewives and Bartenders will explode upon the screen with a story that is surmised by many and known to be true by those who lead the life of a bartender. In some communities, where wife swapping is a prevalent part of the activities and is regarded as a new game - the "in game" - making out with the married woman is old, old hat to the bartenders of America. This has been going on for many decades. In Housewives and Bartenders a scintillating newcomer, Sheri, is introduced along with many new faces and bodies to the Art Film World.

Our story begins at a local bar where Joey Genero, the bartender, is observing his customers to see if he has a likely prospect for his amorous attentions for the evening. Joey calls it, "Joey's after hours playpen" - with Joey the chief performer. After many years as a bartender, three to be exact, Joey has come up with a set of statistics whereby he scores many times more with a married gal

than he does with a single girl. With these statistics, Joey is always observant when a married girl enters his bar. This evening, when Joan Whit-field, a married woman, enters the bar, Joey sets his sights on her. Having dropped in for just one drink, she stays for more when Joey gives her his attention beyond the call of duty. Joan's husband had been away on business and as she exclaims, "she was lonely" - after the bar closes, Joey takes care of that.

In back of Joey's mind, he had been toying with the idea of running a prostitution ring. When Joan falls madly in love with him and leaves her husband, Joey decides to make a prostitute of her. At first, Joan thought she would be helping Joey financially; then he would be able to marry her. Business becomes so good, Joey sets her up in her own apartment and begins looking for new married women to become his "working girls." When a married girl, after having an affair with Joey, decides not to leave her husband, Joey threatens to blackmail her if she doesn't perform the sexual act with his clients who like afternoon matinees.

Joey is finally exposed when his first girl finally realizes she is not number one. She starts holding out on Joey, hoping to save enough money to start a new life. When Joey discovers she is holding out, he proceeds to beat her up. After he beats her into unconsciousness, where she has to be hospitalized, the police begin an investigation. After gaining many confessions, the police arrest Joey and put a stop to his "extra business," the oldest profession in the world.
