Hard on the Trail
1970
The NESSON ranch is devastated by the sudden arrival of a gang which mercilessly guns down JIM NESSON (Adam Stan), his wife, (Mrs. Kemp) and young son, then torture and rape his two daughters, KATHY (Mary Donahue) and SUE (Donna Bradley), to force them to surrender a map showing the location of a hidden mine. STARRET (Greg Corarito), Kathy's betrothed, returning to the ranch after a lengthy absence, is alerted by sight of the bodies in the yard; breaking into the house, he ruthlessly kills the assassins, but is too late to save Kathy, who is accidentally killed in the gun fight. After burying Kathy, Starret and Sue set out for the mine, following the map's directions. When SLADE (Lash La Rue) learns of the fate of his men he sends additional killers to track down Sue and Starret and obtain the map. During the journey to the mine Sue finds herself attracted to Starret, but Starret, blaming himself for Kathy's death, rejects her advances. Meanwhile Nesson's partner in the

mine, OX (Bruce Kemp) and his "Flard Bunch", lose their way en route to the cantina for a rendezvous with RAFAEL, a bandido (Bob Romero), whose Mexicans are to work the mine. Stumbling across a remote stage post, the Hard Bunch ambush a stagecoach and after killing the driver and raping the women passengers, resume their search for Rafael's cantina. Starret, learning that he is being pursued, sets dynamite traps which blow up Slade's gang. When Ox finally reaches the cantina, he and the Hard Bunch are wiped out by the treacherous Mexicans; and after a celebration orgy Rafael rides off on Ox's horse to seize the mine. At the ghost town where the mine is located, Starret and Sue finally make love in a torrid bath scene. When Starret sees Rafael approaching on Ox's horse, he senses a double-cross and with Sue's help, he bushwacks the Mexicans. A bloody battle ensues, in which Starret and Sue are the sole survivors. Starret locates the mine, but there is one more score to settle before his task is finished. He and Sue drop in at Slade's office where, ignoring the man's frantic protests, Starret rummages through a desk. When he opens a drawer, it triggers a booby-trap, and a dynamite blast puts an abrupt end to friend and foe.
