Cherry, Harry, and Raquel
1969 Directed by Russ Meyer
Teaser for Cherry, Harry, and Raquel An incisive probe into the very souls of those people involved in the narcotics racket. A dusty Arizona border town and vast expanses of baked desert provide the magnificent scenic background for hot cars, hot guns and hot women. FRANKLIN, an evil genius masterminding a successful operation running narcotics across the Mexican border, sets the dark forces of destiny in motion when he orders the killing of the APACHE, an Indian transporter of narcotics who elected to join the white man's free enterprise system by eliminating the middleman. FRANKLIN orders him killed by HARRY, a county Deputy sheriff who doubles as lord high executioner for the syndicate. HARRY also operates a non-profit gold mine, hoping to strike it rich for his paramour CHERRY, an expatriate English nurse, whose amply endowed figure graces the desert hospital where FRANKLIN is a patient. FRANKLIN commands HARRY to enlist the aid of ENRIQUE, a carefree Mexican-American youth who has succumbed to the lure of easy money, working for the

syndicate as a driver. HARRY'S visit to FRANKLIN'S room interrupts a torrid love scene with RAQUEL, ENRIQUE'S woman. RAQUEL and FRANKLIN explore the limits of bizarre love techniques. HARRY and RAQUEL'S return drive to enlist ENRIQUE is interrupted by a spirited encounter in the back seat of a derelict sport car. HARRY and ENRIQUE'S unholy alliance to liquidate the APACHE is threatened by their mutual distrust and racist attitudes. They set up an ambush, but the Indian's savage guile tricks them. They pump round after round into a burning decoy car only to find it empty and themselves outflanked. Wildly firing their 12 gauge pump guns they charge up "San Juan Hill" into a curtain of hot lead pouring down on them from the APACHE'S service rifle. Topping the rise they find bloody evidence of having wounded the APACHE. Confident he will die they leave him to the baking heat of the desert. A new facet of HARRY and CHERRY'S relationship develops with the tenderness of their erotic and graphic love couplings in the hot desert sand dunes. CHERRY returns to the hospital where she meets FRANKLIN and demonstrates for him exotic muscle relaxing procedures never dreamed of in the nurse's training manuals. A phone call from HARRY interrupts the treatment and HARRY is told to have RAQUEL report to FRANKLIN for duty that night. HARRY visits ENRIQUE'S hovel to relay the command to RAQUEL and also tells ENRIQUE to make the final cross-border pick up. HARRY'S arrival disturbs a passionate encounter between RAQUEL and ENRIQUE. The incredibly endowed and oversexed RAQUEL still has the drive to seduce HARRY before he leaves on his mission of death. ENRIQUE returns from Mexico happily contemplating the benefits of his intended double cross of the syndicate. His reverie is interrupted by the flashing red light of the sheriff's Jeep. At first, unable to discern the identity of the shadowy figure at the wheel, he soon learns it is the APACHE out to kill him. An exciting desert chase ensues with the hot rod outdistancing the Jeep on the straight-aways but soon overtaken on the rough desert terrain. Finally crashing to a stop in a mud filled crevice ENRIQUE is brought to bay by the silently circling jeep. In the style of his savage ancestors surrounding a wagon train the APACHE moves in for the kill . . .
