Candy 1970
1970 Ewa Aulin
Candy (EWA AULIN), daydreaming in her high school class, receives a stern lecture from her teacher, her Daddy (JOHN ASTIN). After class, she and Harold (NEAL NOORLAC), her boyfriend, go to a performance by the Welsh poet McPhisto (RICHARD BURTON) who is quite attracted to her and offers to drive her home in his Rolls-Royce. Them he tries to ply her with liquor, he succeeds in spilling it all over himself. With the help of Zero (SUGAR RAY ROBINSON) his chauffeur, they go into her house to dry off, where the Mexican gardener Emmanuel (RINGO STARR) tries to gain Candy's favor. Emmanuel throws Candy onto the pool table in his passion for her, just as Daddy and some faculty ladies come in and break it up. Candy is sent to New York, and Aunt Livia (ELSA MARTINELLI) and Uncle Jack (also JOHN ASTIN) take her to the airport. They are chased by Emmanuel's sisters (MARILU TOLO, NICOLEVVA MACHIAVELLI, FLORINDA BOLKAN) who insist she marry their brother who now cannot become a priest as

planned, In the melee, Daddy is injured and requires an operation. They jump into a military plane commanded by General Smight (WALTER MATTHAU) who pursues Candy around the plane, but accidentally bails out in the chase. In New York, Dr. Krankeit (JAMES COBURN) performs the operation on Daddy amidst much fanfare, and Dr. Dunlap (JOHN HUSTON) congratulates the Doctor. As the men in the hospital chase Candy, and Aunt Livia chases the men in the hospital, Daddy wakes from the operation and escapes. Blamed for the whole mess, Candy runs away to Greenwich Village where she agrees to be in a movie filmed by Jonathon 3. John (ENRICO MARIA SALERNO). Filming begins immediately in a cafe men's room until a pipe breaks and the room is flooded. A drenched Candy escapes to Central Park where the Hunchback (CHARLES AZNAVOUR) offers to dry her clothes at his place. But Vandals break in and sack his apartment bringing the police. Because tile Hunchback is the nation's most wanted criminal, he ducks out leaving Candy to be arrested. On the way to jail, the paddy wagon crashes into a transvestite party and Candy escapes to a huge van nearby. There she finds Grindl the Guru (MARLON BRANDO) who promises to teach her the secrets of life on a trip across country. In California, searching for the Great Buddha, she finds a Hermit, covered with dirt, who takes her to the temple where a huge storm destroys it. Pinned to the wall by the Hermit, Candy sees the rain wash the dirt away, and "Good Grief, it's Daddy. Candy runs away to a giant love-in where she sees all the men she has met dressed as hippies. She goes to the desert and we see her float away in a shimmer of white, a figment of our imagination.
