Teaser Storyline for Below the Belt
Johnny Monohan is a young fighter who isa contender for the title.
Sammy Beat is his manager who wields a most powerful influence over his young protege. Louie Gardino is an underworld gangster whose specialty is fighting and Johnny's his kind of fighter. Benny Bravo is a half-witted flunky who was at one time a fighter, but had one fight too many.
Johnny is doing road work while Sammy is following in his car and Johnny meets Denise who stops to talk with him.
Sammy sees them and drives back and yells at Johnny about stopping his workout and takes Denise with him. Sammy is trying to make a killing on the fight by keeping the odds down and keeps checking with the bookie.
Loule Gardino is his syndicate boss and Louie brings Lisa to the camp to meet Johnny and to pump him for information. Johnny is very innocent and Lisa undresses and scares Johnny off. Lisa tells Louie about Johnny "running

like a jack rabbit."
Sammy drives into camp about then and Louie goes over to talk to him about the fight and they put on a show for Johnny acting as if Louie doesn't like Sammy.
Sammy visits one of his girls and finds out she's in the hospital as a result of a beating he gave her. He intimidates her roomate Baby, by offering her money for an evening's entertainment and she is reluctant because of his reputation. Louie visits the camp and Johnny notices Lisa has a black eye and learns Louie had hit her. Johnny, in a cold-blodded rage, punches Louie.
Louie is almost insane as he tells Johnny and Sammy to "do a lot of breathing between now and the fight."
Sammy finds the odds on the fight are in his favor and tries to change them to no avail.
Sammy takes Lisa to bed and is discovered by Johnny who beats him up and is stopped by Benny. Benny sends Lisa and Johnny away. Louie comes to see Sammy and finds him dead. Benny tells
Louie about Johnny's fighting ability and Louie takes him, telling him there's a place for him in the organization . . . .
