Bel Ami
1975 Christa Linder
Teaser Storyline for Bel Ami George Duroy is a not too successful journalist for a puritanical magazine. Attending an erotic art show as a critic, he is taken on at a popular glossy magazine, PLAYHOUSE, which is sponsoring the exhibition. Already at the art exhibition George meets a couple of the lovely girls who work for the magazine. One of them promises to help him in his new career, the other knocks him down with her car. Clotilde, the girl who wishes to help George, proves to be willing in a number of ways and introduces him to the editor's wife Madelaine. Clotilde and Madelaine share George for a while and help him in his career. He makes sufficient progress to be introduced to Suzanne and Rebecca Walter, the wife and daughter of the magazine's owner. George advances quickly at the magazine and soon has a luxurious apartment with a huge round bed on which he entertains all his women in a tiring merry-go-round of love (tiring for George at

least). Forrestier, Madelaine's husband and editor of the magazine, gives George one impossible project after another in the hope that he will fail at his job. George, on the contrary, is extremely successful at everything he touches and is soon posing a threat to Forrestier himself. Forrestier sends George out on one final impossible mission: to interview a beautiful, black, African princess, who herself is on a secret mission to buy weapons for her country's government. She is under heavy guard and is known to be very unfriendly to journalists. But George sneaks into her hotel room and she turns out to be just the opposite of unfriendly. In a moment of passion she spills the story of the arms deal on to George's tape recorder ...
