Dr. Terror's House of Horrors
1965 Christopher Lee
Teaser Storyline for Dr. Terror's House of Horrors Six men share a railway compartment. One of them introduces himself as Dr. Terror (PETER CUSHING) and takes out a deck of Tarot cards, which, he explains, are used to predict the future. The cards are his "house of horrors." The first man curious about his future is Jim Dawson (NEIL McCALLUM), an architect en route to discuss alterations on his former estate with its present owner, Dierdre Bidduip (URSULA HOWELLS). Dr. Terror's prediction: the beautiful Dierdre will turn into a monstrous werewolf and will attack Dawson. Dr. Terror then turns to Bill Rogers (ALAN FREEMAN). The Tarot cards show that he will find a creeping vine growing on the side of his house. It will strangle his daughter's dog, then a research botanist, and finally his superior (BERNARD LEE). Buff Bailey (ROY CASTLE), a jazz musician on his way to the Bahamas, is next to inquire about his future. Beware of voodoo, warns Dr. Terror. Bailey will steal secret voodoo

rite music for commercial uses and will be haunted across the ocean by Dambala, the God of Voodoo. A doctor about to be married, Bob Carroll (DONALD SUTHERLAND) decides to hear what the future holds for him. The cards say that Carroll's new bride, Nicolle (JENNIFER JAYNE), will be a vampire. At the urging of a colleague, Dr. Blake (MAX ADRIAN), Carroll will drive a wooden stake through Nicolle's heart. When police question him, he will ask corroboration from Dr. Blake as to his wife's unusual condition. Blake will deny the vampire story, and as his young associate is taken off to jail, will utter the blood-chilling line, "There isn't room in this town for two vampires." Dr. Terror then turns to Franklyn Marsh (CHRISTOPHER LEE), an art critic who has been scoffing at these fantastic excursions into the future. Taunted by the others, he finally consents to have the mysterious doctor tell his fortune. Marsh's fate is even worse than that of his fellow travellers. He is to be tortured and tormented by a disembodied hand-that of an artist whom Marsh has deprecated and who loses his hand when Marsh tries to run him over with a car. The five men want to know whether there is any way to escape their terrible fates. Only by death, answers Dr. Terror. And indeed, when the train stops and the men alight, they discover that Dr. Terror is Death and that they have reached their final destination.
