When Demons opened in Rome in 1985, it soared into the Italian top 10, where it stayed for several weeks. The thriller will be making its US debut on May 30, as a national release from Ascot Entertainment.

Demons which "Fangoria Magazine" calls, "one of the best horror films in the last decade," takes place in Berlin and centers around the mysterious Metropol cinema. When strange circumstances lead a music student and her friend to a free screening, they find the surprise attraction is a horror movie which evolves around demonic possession and graphic murder.

A young woman, who cut her face on a display mask in the lobby, begins to undergo a hideous transformation into a snarling creature 0f the underworld.. Panic spreads through the theater when the patrons discover they are trapped inside with no exit and evil spreads into an orgy of bloodshed and madness.

Demons is directed by Lamberto Bavo (Macabre, Inferno, Tenebrae) in conjunction with producer Dario Argento (Susperia, The Bird With The Crystal Plumage). Although the four leads, Natasha Havey, Urbana Barberini, Paola Cozzo, and Karl Zinny are Italian, the film was shot entirely in English with American distribution in mind.
