Andy Warhol's Frankenstein
Carne Per Frankenstein

1973       Udo Kier

A Bryanston Pictures release, Andy Warhol's Frankenstein has been praised by some of Americas most outstanding critics.

Newsweek described it "a perversely fascinating movie. The first original FRANKENSTEIN in years." Playboy said it "instantly achieved top rank as the most outrageously gruesome epic ever unleashed. Judith Grist called it very funny and clever and Cosmopolitan commented, "Paul Morrissey hits the jackpot. Frankenstein is original, outrageous, campy, bloody film!

Swooping bats, severed limbs, gobs of livid human entrails, a hideously efficient decapitating gadget, some well-turned breasts and buttocks, plus assorted spare parts are among the visceral treats that slither right off the screen in Andy Warhol's Frankenstein.

Warhol's FRANKENSTEIN was directed by Paul Morrissey (who made Andy Warhol's "TRASH" and "HEAT") under the aegis of Warhol and movie mogul Carlo Ponti.

Andy Warhol's Frankenstein is an unsettling, sometimes unsteady blend of put-on and seriousness. This blend is epitomized by the performance of Udo Kier, who plays Baron Frankenstein with fine-edged fanaticism as well as a German accent that borders on parody.

The baron spends his time kidnapping and cutting up the young people of the village, then sewing together their disparate parts into a matching pair of super-creatures - male and female - who will breed him a master race.

JOE DALLESANDRO stars as a Field Hand caught exploring in Baron Victor Von Frankenstein's laboratory by the Baron's assistant, Otto, (ARNO JUERGING), as the monster watches in this scene from Andy Warhol's Frankenstein, a film by Paul Mor~ rissey.

UDO KIER stars at 'Baron Victor Von Frankenstein' watching for a reaction from his newly created Girl Zombie (DALILA Dl LAZZARO) in a scene from Andy Warhol's Frankenstein, a film by Paul Morrissey.
