Based upon a novel by Roy Chanslor, produced by Harold Hecht. Starring Jane Fonda, Lee Marvin (in his Best Actor Academy Award winning role), Michael Callan, Dwayne Hickman, Nat King Cole (the incredibly talented black African-American singer, who appeared in a number of movies), Stubby Kaye, and Nick Cravat (who was Burt Lancaster's trapeze partner during his circus days, and who played small roles in several of Lancaster's movies).
