L.A. is his town . . . all of it . . . on the street . . . when he is somewhere else, the street people call him one bad mother. . . when he's there they call him Mr. T. . . black or white, they call him Mr. T.

T knows his bread and butter are the street people . . . he never loses contact with them . . . does business from a small office at the back of a pool room in the ghetto . . . from the office or from the first table that nobody plays on but T and the people he invites to shoot with him.

Pete Cockrell (white) (RALPH WAITE) and Chalky Price (black) (PAUL WINFIELD) hire T for big money to stop whoever is sticking up their floating crap games. The job is a set up . . . a trap for T. . . a plan to let Pete and Chalky murder their competition, Big, a black racketeer (JULIUS HARRIS), and tag T for the murder. Big is murdered . . . with T's gun . . . The frame is perfect . . . but T checkmates Pete and Chalky . . . screws the evidence around, in a matter of seconds, so that Police Captain Joe Marx (BILL SMITHERS) can't nail T, though he'd give both arms to do it. Marx can't hold T.

T's on the street again.. . angry. . . sends Cleo (his beautiful woman) (PAULA KELLY) and Jimmy (who runs the pool room and is T's only real friend (BILL HENDERSON) out of town. They're the two people T cares enough about so that they could be used to pressure him. Now T goes after Pete and Chalky.

Chalky knows that T will know who framed him. . . will be coming after them. He tries to get out of town, but doesn't move fast enough. T breaks into the West Adams building where Chalky has his office . . . surprises Chalky and his hoods. . . Chalky is washed away. . . the bullet was meant for T.

Now T moves for the fancy Century City high-rise that houses Pete Cockrell's penthouse office/apartment . . . a modern fortress surrounded by Pete's well-trained, well-paid, shotgun-armed hoods. T rips off Pete's army . . . one and two at a time . . . like a flawlessly designed machine . . . always moving up toward the penthouse . . . where Pete waits for him . . . 38 in hand . . . ready.

T flings himself through the door, firing as he moves . . . the room erupts with gunfire and shattering glass.

Pete is dead . . . shot with a gun that will mysteriously prove out to have been locked in the police evidence file at the time of the shooting . . . T is in the clear . . . each shooting clearly self-defense.

T goes off into the night with the beautiful black policewoman who is newly assigned to sit at the front desk of the police evidence file room. He introduces himself . . . he doesn't have to . . . she knows who he is . . . everybody knows. . . T.. . Trouble Man.
