Cleopatra Jones
1973 Tamara Dobson
Cleopatra Jones (TAMARA DOBSON) is a special agent in the international war against dope, but she has her own private vendetta going against the pushers who operate in the ghettos. Her most ruthless enemy is Mommy (SHELLEY WINTERS), head of a ring that includes Doodlebug (ANTONIO FARGAS), the owner of a night club where his girlfriend Tiffany (BRENDA SYKES) is the singing star. In order to lure Cleopatra back from Turkey, where she has just supervised the spectacular napalm burning of an opium poppy field, Mommy sets up a phony "bust" of the B & S House, the headquarters of an anti-drug movement in the ghetto. The head of B & S is Reuben (BERNIE CASEY), the man whom Cleopatra loves. Cleopatra returns to the U.S. determined to bring justice to whoever planted drugs at B & S. Mommy is equally determined to annihilate Cleopatra. But her henchmen are constantly being out-fought, outgunned and out-witted by the resourceful female agent. In a spine-chilling climax, Cleopatra, Reuben and members of the B &

S clash with Mommy's gang. The see-saw battle ends with Reuben proving himself a hero worthy of Cleopatra's faith and trust. As she leaves on a new and equally dangerous assignment, Cleopatra's special farewell to Reuben is evidence that their love is enough to sustain them both until her return.
